The best open access articles that we routinely receive are from The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, etc. Purely open access journals such as Nature Communications are also excellent. Try to stay away from predatory open access journals or those with low impact factors (less than IF of 3.0) as these articles will be rejected.
Also consider the year of publication of the article. Practicing physicians often find it difficult to stay up to date with the latest medical advances. Picking articles published in the last few years can be highly effective in keeping our providers up to speed!
